Roadrunner Services Labor on Loan is looking for an experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team for an on-site assignment at Manheim Southern California in Fontana, CA.

We’re looking for dependable, skilled mechanics who enjoy working with vehicles, can troubleshoot mechanical issues, and take pride in getting the job done right.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on a variety of passenger vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance and general automotive repairs.
• Troubleshoot engine, brake, suspension, steering, and other vehicle systems.
• Identify mechanical concerns and recommend necessary repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work efficiently with the on-site team to meet operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous hands-on experience as an Automotive Mechanic or Automotive Technician required.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems independently.
• Familiarity with automotive tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

COMPENSATION
$30–$32 per hour, depending on experience.

As a Transport Driver aka Car Mover you will:

• Drive passenger vehicles to and from the auto auctions and nearby dealerships or storage lots.
• Ride in a company shuttle van with other drivers to and from the pickup and drop-off locations
• Follow other vehicles or chase van in front of you 
• Follow safe driving procedures 
• Scan vehicles with a Smart phone
• Perform a walk around visual inspection for damage before driving the vehicle
• Work as part of a team to provide efficient and safe pickup and delivery of vehicles  

Requirements:

• 21+ years old 
• Good Driving Record
• Successful MVR, background and drug test
• Ability to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly during the day 
• Ability to see clearly near and far, maintain adequate peripheral vision and perceive depth and motion as well as distinguish traffic signals and sounds.

• • Operate and park all vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with all applicable company policies
  • Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as requested and locate vehicles
  • Place labels on vehicles if needed
  • Coordinate assistance when a vehicle is inoperable or needs service or gas
  • Drive assigned vehicles through auction lanes on sale day
  • Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed including inflating tires or jump-starting vehicles using a battery box and air tank when necessary
  • Assist with maintaining lot area when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

What You'll Be Doing

• Follow designated routes and other team vehicles when directed.

• Perform a quick visual inspection of vehicles for damage before driving.
